It’s the little things

Showing up to your life

Well, it really helps to put your dreams on the schedule! –> This year’s Bucket List

Why Struggles?

The best visual I’ve seen for to help answer this question is from my two house plants. One started life as a happy, carefree long ivy-vined beauty. The other, I accidentally forgot in the car overnight … in freezing weather. It lost everything except a few leaves and it struggled every day for a long time just to survive.

Months later I set the two plants side by side and was shocked at the difference. The plant that lived a happy, carefree life was overgrown and all over the place. But the plant that had struggled every day just to survive had grown tall and beautiful.

“WHY struggles?!”
Maybe now I can understand in some small way …

If you’re struggling right now, I’m sorry. Life is hard … really hard. I hope you will keep on fighting through … whatever it takes! You are building something beautiful!

I love this song by The Fray.
It was a message to me recently … running repeatedly thru my head for an entire week just before some really hard things showed up in my life.

The meaning of these words is more important than we realize.

Be still, Be still and Know.

Explore Experiencing Happy

One of the best quotes I’ve ever read:

” Sometimes it’s good to pause in our Pursuit of Happiness
and Just Be Happy ”

Explore Experiencing Wonder

” I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed

” I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance

” I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin’ might mean takin’ chances but they’re worth takin’
Lovin’ might be a mistake but it’s worth makin’

Don’t let some hell-bent heart leav you bitter
When you come close to sellin’ out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
