Camping on the Palouse

The Power of a simple memory

As a kid, I always loved camping and wished our family went more often. As an adult, I realized how much work actually went into *just getting out the door*!!

It’s like you spend all week planning, prepping, and packing everything needed for comfort, emergency and fun (don’t forget the kitchen sink?!). By the time Friday rolls around, and you have stuffed everything and everyone in the car ready to go … you are completely exhausted!! And you haven’t even left the driveway yet! All this for just one or two nights?!

However, think of the memories that are created, the bonds that are formed … these are things that LAST A LIFETIME! And just imagine (or remember?!) the power of a simple memory as we’re raising a future generation of parents.

Every effort we make now really is changing the future … One exhausting, chaotic weekend camp trip at a time! Keep it coming!

Where to go Camping on the Palouse

There are many great places to get out camping on the Palouse! Here are a few of my favorites!

Chief Timothy Park

  • Camping on an Island!
  • Mostly RV campers and a few small cabins.
  • Lots of river access! An easy ~1 mile hiking trail loops around the island, taking you to see the Confluence of the Snake & Clearwater rivers and the historic Listening Circle
