When I started a “Backyard” bucket list, I struggled with what to put on it. But after taking an impromptu outdoors walk with a special friend of mine, I found my inspiration!
Honestly, every Backyard bucket list should include things you can do while outdoors in a snowsuit and fuzzy pajama bottom feet while running away from a furry puppy that really wants your Valentine’s day balloon!
… oh, and don’t take yourself too seriously!
Just go have FUN! It’s a great way to have some really grand backyard adventures!!
Backyard bucket list ideas to get you started!
1- Find something you used to love, but haven’t done in a long time. Go do it!
–> My college roommate and I found a giant pile of leaves on the way home from the gym one day. We sat right there on the side of the road and played in those leaves for like 20 minutes! It was an absolute blast, a great way to procrastinate homework(!) and one of my favorite memories!
2 – Think of something you’ve always wanted to learn. Go learn it!
–> Ever since I was a little girl on the back of my dad’s motorcycle, I have always wanted to learn to ride! Thanks to my daughter’s interest and encouragement, we took a class, got our endorsements and I bought my own motorcycle (the next day!)
3 – Do something spur of the moment, impromptu that makes you happy.
–> Yes! Right now!!
4 – Take a dog for a walk and investigate everything he is fascinated in. Be prepared to laugh at his antics … and yourself while doing it!
–> It might be the most unique and adventuresome walk you’ve ever been on!
5 – Get outside on a sunny day … Take a walk or Sit on a park bench. Feel the warmth of the sun and think of things you have to be grateful for.
–> There are more than you realize and it’s not as hard as you think, once you start! Give it a try!!
